The Short story: Five Maroons scored in double figures Friday night to lead the Roanoke College men's basketball team to a 90-59 win against Springfield College in the first game of the Frankie Allen Tip-Off Tournament in the Cregger Center.

Saint Vincent College (Pa.) defeated William Peace 74-68 in the second game of the tournament.

*Roanoke opened the game on a 12-0 run and never looked back, forging a 55-23 lead at halftime.
*A total of 18 players saw action and 14 Maroons got in the scoring column.

*Patrick Clevenger had the game's only double double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
*Clayton Gaither scored a game-high 13 points, hitting all four of his shots from the field and both from the free-throw line.
*Marcus Morgan had a solid evening with 12 points, a game-high six assists and four rebounds.
*Jackson Bell scored 12 points and Gavin O'Malley netted 10 points with six boards.
*Ryan Truitt posted eight points.
*Jarrod Flynn scored a team-high 10 points for the Pride (0-3).
