The Short story: The seventh-seeded Roanoke College women's volleyball team nearly forced No. 2 Virginia Wesleyan University to five sets Tuesday evening in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Tournament Quarterfinals, but the Marlins rallied in the fourth set to eliminate the Maroons.
Virginia Wesleyan took the first two sets but Roanoke won the third 25-17 and scored five-straight points to go ahead 21-19 in the fourth set. The Marlins won six of the final seven points to advance to the ODAC Semifinals.
