Location: Danville, Va. – James Grant Center, Averett University

The Short story: The Roanoke College wrestling team had champions in half of the 10 weight classes Sunday at the 2024 Cougar Open, hosted by Averett University.
 
How it happened:
*Josh Noble (125), Jonah Paulino (133), Dustin Smith (149), Jack Bobeck (165) and Cam Cavins (197) all took home first-place hardware and 16 other Maroons finished in the top eight.

Noble was impressive in winning four matches at 125, two by technical fall and two by major decision. Paulino had two technical falls and finished strong with victories by pin in the semifinals and finals. Smith won five matches, with one major decision, two technical falls and one pin.

Bobeck won five matches on the day, three by pins, and Cavins had four pins in his five victories.
