The Short story: The Roanoke College women's volleyball team dominated the fifth set Wednesday evening to post a hard-earned victory over Averett University in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) play. Senior Kylee Draper posted 30 assists on the night to move to 2,010 for her career, ranking fifth in program history.

The Maroons took the first two sets, but the Cougars battled back to force a fifth set after winning the third and fourth games. RC quickly took control of the final set and held a 12-2 edge before winning the game 15-5 to win the match.

Inside the numbers:
*Peyton Kirchner blasted 18 kills with just four errors and added seven digs.
*Rylee Mayer had a match-high 20 kills and eight digs and Sara Waller posted seven kills and three blocks.
*Raygan Wade had 13 digs and 12 assists.
*Draper added a match-high 21 digs and Teagan Hubble had 14 digs.
*Carly Lundgren tied a career-high with six blocks.
*Emma Nash had a team-best 17 kills for Averett (9-12/4-4 ODAC).
