Key Moment

  • Freshman Peyton Manicini saved a ball off the line in the waning seconds to preserve the clean sheet.

How It Happened

  • Kyle Butcher drew a foul just outside the box to set up Ryan Pidgeon for a free kick roughly 20 yards from the goal. Pidgeon then curled a ball into the left side of the goal to put the Maroons ahead.

  • Pacific Ibanzi received the ball in the midfield from a Luca Gustafson goal kick. Ibanzi then played a long through ball to Jake Berecz who took a touch to switch it to his left foot and buried the ball into the lower left corner to double the advantage.

Notes and Notables

  • This is the second straight game that Pidgeon has scored in.

  • Berecz's goal was his first of the campaign and the fourth of his career.

  • Gustafson tallied the first assist of his career on RC's second goal.

  • Ibanzi's assist on the second goal was his second of the year.

  • Gustafson only had to make one save in net. Roanoke was also credited with a team save thanks to Mancini's goal line clearance.
