The Short Story: The second-seeded Vixens swept the seventh-seeded Maroons in the opening round of the ODAC Tournament in Sweet Briar.

HOW IT HAPPENED

Sweet Briar jumped out to a 3-0 lead after doubles play. Ruth de Souza and Allison Wandling defeated Halle Fernstrum and Julia Bassett 8-2 at #1, Sofia Andrade and Ana Patino captured an 8-3 win over Victoria Rios and Lia Streibich at #2, and Lucia Bovard and Alexandra Guilarte bested Emma Johnson and Maddie Morrell 8-0 at #3.
The Vixens clinched the match with victories at #4 and #5 singles. Andrade knocked off Rios 6-0, 6-2 at #4, while Kate Kotany topped Morrell 6-0, 6-0 at #5.

Up Next: Roanoke completes its 2022-23 season with a 7-10 overall record, including a 4-6 mark in ODAC regular-season play.
