The Short Story: The Maroons capped their spring break trip to South Carolina with a narrow 5-4 loss to Lebanon Valley on Thursday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Lebanon Valley surged to a 3-0 lead after doubles play. Justin Schuetz and Adam Warren edged Federico Maccari and Zach Kriebel 8-6 at #1, Jesse Beck and Brendan Byler defeated Hardt Lesko and John-Henry Herrington 8-2 at #2, and Michael Schuetz and Jacob Erb posted an 8-1 win over Jackson Wagner and Jonathan Pratt at #3.
- The Maroons put together a great singles run, claiming straight-set wins at each of the top four spots. Maccari beat Justin Schuetz 6-3, 6-1 at #1, Kriebel knocked off Warren 7-6, 6-1 at #2, Lesko earned a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Jeffrey Bauer at #3, and Herrington took down Brady McLucas 6-4, 6-4 at #4.
- But the Flying Dutchmen pulled out victories at #5 and #6 singles to collect the team win. Beck downed Wagner 6-2, 6-3 at #5, and Byler bested Lance Beheler 6-0, 6-2 at #6.
