The Short Story: The Maroons closed out the fall portion of their schedule with a road victory over the Tornadoes on Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• Roanoke took a 2-1 lead after doubles play. Brevard's Hayden LeBlanc and Bryce Bernitt bested Federico Maccari and Julio Marques 8-5 at the top spot, but the Maroons won the other two matches: Zach Kriebel and Hardt Lesko knocked off Devin Horton and Peter Bresko 8-6 at #2, and John-Henry Herrington and Jackson Wagner beat David Hoyle and Brian Seon 8-4 at #3.
• The Maroons took five of the six singles matches to run away with the team victory. In the #1 flight, Maccari defeated LeBlanc 6-4, 7-6 (5).
• Marques handled Horton 6-0, 6-2 at #3 singles, and Lesko dispatched Hoyle 6-4, 6-2 at the #4 spot.
• Herrington recorded a 7-6 (4), 6-4 victory over Bresko at #5, and Lance Beheler downed Seon 7-5, 7-5 at #6.
• The Tornadoes' lone singles point came at #2, where Bernitt scored a 6-4, 6-3 win over Kriebel.
