The Lead: The Roanoke College women's tennis team made the trip to Shenandoah to make up a match that was postponed on April 5th due to weather. The Maroons would fall behind, 3-0, after the doubles matches and the Hornets carried that momentum to sweep singles play as Roanoke fell to the Hornets, 9-0.
Women's Highlights:
- Margriet Bostoen and Julia Bassett lost a close match at the #2 spot when they came up just short, 8-6.
- Halle Fernstrum fell, 6-3 and 6-3, at #2 singles while Bassett came up short at #4 against Lily Kimble, 6-4 and 6-0.
- At the #5 spot, Sophie Bartholomaus dropped the first set, 6-1 but rallied to take the second frame 7-5. In the third set tie-breaker, Bartholomaus would fall 10-8.
What's Next: Roanoke is scheduled to wrap up the regular season on April 23rd when they play host to Randolph College.
