The Lead: The Roanoke men traveled to Ashland for an afternoon match with Randolph-Macon. The Maroons would race out to a 2-1 advantage after the doubles matches. In singles play, the Yellow Jackets would take a 4-3 edge with just two matches left to finish. When RMC won at the #5 position, the Yellow Jackets had secured the win.
Highlights:
- Zach Kriebel and Hardt Lesko put Roanoke in front with an 8-4 at the #1 spot. After the Yellow Jackets tied it up, the duo of Dalton Capobianco and Hunter Adams put RC back in front after an 8-2 victory.
- After Macon took three of the singles matches, Capobianco used a 6-2 and 6-2 with at the #4 spot to get the Maroons back in the match.
- The longest match of the afternoon was a 6-2, 2-6, 12-10 win by Michael Morrell at the #6 singles.
Up next: Roanoke returns home for a Monday afternoon match with Centre. The match is scheduled to begin at 3:00pm at the Elizabeth Campus Tennis Complex.
