The Lead: The Roanoke wrestling team finished fourth in a strong field at the 2022 Citrus Invitational that included a number of ranked Division III teams as well as Division II programs. The Maroons saw seven wrestlers reach the podium.

RC highlights:
- 125 lbs. – Jude Robson finished fourth with a fall in his opening match and three decisions, including one 2-0 in sudden victory.
- 133 lbs. – Corey Messick made it to the quarterfinals before reaching the podium with a win in the 7th place match over his opponent from Williams.
- 141 lbs. – Morgan Robinson finished seventh in his weight class after also reaching the quarterfinals. He won his last match with a major decision over his opponent from Schreiner.
- 149 lbs. – Jarrod Pominville advanced to the semifinals before finishing sixth.
- 157 lbs. – Zane Cox made the third round before dropping a match. He bounced back to win four straight en route to a 5th place finish.
- 174 lbs. – Kyle Lee dropped his first match and won three-straight before beating a wrestler from St. Thomas in the 7th place match.
- 184 lbs. – Mahlic Sallah made the semifinals of his weight class before finishing fourth.
Next Up:
- Roanoke remains on the road as it travels to Washington and Lee for the 2023 Crytzer Memorial Tournament in Lexington on Saturday, January 7. The one-day tournament gets underway at 9 a.m.
