The Lead: In a rare Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) fall match, Roanoke hosted perennial conference power Washington and Lee. The Generals knocked the Maroons out of the 2021 ODAC Women's Tennis Tournament and once again posted a sweep, 9-0, of RC.
Women's Highlights:
- The duo of Lucy Collins and Halle Fernstrum fell, 8-2, at the #1 doubles spot.
- Fernstrum played Roanoke's best singles match, falling 6-4 and 6-1 at #2 singles.
- At #3 singles, Julia Bassett played a close first set, 6-3, before falling 6-1 in set two.
What's Next: The Roanoke women will try for a third time, the first two matches were postponed by the weather, to host Southern Virginia. The match with the Knights is scheduled for September 28 at 4:00pm.
