The Lead: The Roanoke at Emory & Henry match was moved from Saturday to Friday afternoon due to the forecasted weather. The Maroons won a pair of doubles matches to take a 2-1 advantage. However, the Wasps would rally in singles play to complete the comeback and pick up the 5-4 win.
Women's Highlights:
- The #1 doubles team of Lucy Collins and Halle Fernstrum cruised to an 8-1 win. Roanoke would go up 2-1 after Margriet Bostoen and Olivia Maccluen posted an 8-5 win at #2.
- Fernstrum won her singles match at the two spot with a three set win. Halle won the first set, 6-1 before falling in the second frame, 4-6, to set up a decisive third set. Ferstrum would take the match with a 6-3, third set victory.
- At #3, Bostoen had a much easier time with a 6-1 and 6-0 win.
Up next: The Maroons are set to host Shenandoah on Sunday in their Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) regular season finale.
