The Lead: The Roanoke College men's and women's tennis teams played host to Averett on Tuesday afternoon. The Cougars would get the better of Roanoke this afternoon. The men would fall 7-2 while the woman suffered a 6-3 loss.
Men's Highlights:
- Jack Fishwick and Zach Kriebel picked up an 8-5 win at #1 doubles, but the Maroons would trail 2-1.
- Fishwick would take the first set at #1 singles before falling to force a third set. The senior would win the tie breaker, 10-7, to secure the win.
- At #6 singles, the Maroons would see Lance Beheler take the opener, 6-4, but fell, 6-1, in the second to force another third set tie-breaker. However, Beheler would come up just short as Philipp Bohnenkamp won the tie-breaker, 10-8.
Up next: The men will welcome Washington and Lee tomorrow afternoon at the Elizabeth Campus Tennis Complex.
