The Lead: The Roanoke College men's and women's tennis teams would host Johnson University at the Elizabeth Campus Tennis Complex on Saturday morning. Both the men and women would complete 9-0 sweeps of the matches against the Royals.
Highlights:
- A clean sweep of the three doubles matches would give RC an early lead. Halle Fernstrum and Olivia Maccluen cruised to an 8-1 win at #2 doubles while Jessica Kennedy and Lucy Collins would post an 8-3 win at the top spot.
- In singles play, Roanoke would complete the sweep of the Royals taking all six individual matchups.
- Kennedy didn't drop a game at the #1 spot with the 6-0 and 6-0 win. At #4, Margriet Bostoen lost just one game on her way to a 6-1 and 6-0 victory.
- Sophie Bartholomaus earned a win at #6 with a score of 6-2 and 6-1.
Up next: Roanoke is scheduled to host Averett on Tuesday afternoon with a 3:00pm start at the Elizabeth Campus Tennis Complex.
