The Lead: Roanoke College played host to Lynchburg in an Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) matchup of top three teams from the 2021 preseason poll. The Hornets would score less than five minutes into the match. Another Lynchburg score in the closing stages of the first half would be all the Hornets would need as they picked up the ODAC win, 2-0.

Highlights:

• Just minutes into the evening, Lynchburg struck first, giving the visitors a 1-0 lead.
• The Maroons would win the shot battle during the first 45 minutes, 4-3, but the final Lynchburg shot of the half would make it 2-0 at the break.
• Roanoke would attempt five, second half shots, but couldn't find the back of the net as Lynchburg held on for the ODAC win.
• The teams would finish with nine shots apiece, with each team sending five shots on goal.
• Zach Behe recorded three saves. Anthony Zarlenga would lead the team with a pair of shots on goal for the Maroons.
