The Lead: Roanoke traveled to Southern Virginia for a non-conference volleyball match on Monday night. It was a rematch of an earlier match that was won by the Knights, 3-2, in Salem. Southern Virginia took the opening set and carried that momentum to a, 3-0, sweep of the Maroons.  

Highlights:

• A Linsey Bailey kill put Roanoke in front, 9-7, in the early stages of the first set. However, the Knights would win five straight and eight of the next nine points to pull away for the 25-18 win.
• The home team used a 14-2 run to cruise to a 2-0 lead after two sets.
• The Maroons trailed, 9-13 before seeing the Knights close out the match with a 12-1 run to earn the sweep of RC.
• Bailey finished with eight kills to lead the Maroons attack. Kylee Draper assisted on eight of Roanoke's 17 kills while Kennedy Clemmer and Olivia Newman each recorded seven digs.
