The Lead: Roanoke traveled for their ODAC opener and despite winning the first set, fell to the Marlins.

How it Happened:

• Trailing 18-22, Angel Ross served the Maroons to a 23-22 edge. After the Marlins won back the serve, Roanoke scored two in a row to take the opening frame.
• Set two would once again see a Roanoke rally, however VWU would close the set on a 6-1 run to even the match.
• Having seized the momentum, the Marlins would pull away midway through the third set and finish off the Maroons with a 14 kill, one error fourth set win.
• Linsey Bailey (14) and Telia Harris (13) combined for 27 of Roanoke's 36 kills.
• Roanoke served nine aces, led by Logan Pasley with three. Pasley added 18 assists with Bailey leading the team in digs, 12.
