The Lead: The Roanoke College Women's Tennis team closed out its spring break slate of matches with a 9-0 win over Defiance on Wednesday.

How it Happened:

• Roanoke swept doubles winning all three matches. Jessica Kennedy and Lucy Collins topped Cayla Walker and Chelsey Braunwart 8-4 in No. 1 doubles.
• Janny Alvarado and Carolyn Kitsock won 8-3 at No. 2 doubles, while Madeline Herring and Kelly MacCluen were victorious at No. 3 doubles.
• Kennedy prevailed 6-3, 6-1 at No. 1 singles over Braunwart.
• Alvarado was victorious at No. 2 singles over Walker 6-4, 6-0.
• Herring was at No. 3 singles, while MacCluen (No. 4), Arabella Goralski (No. 5) and Sophie Bartholomaus (No. 6) were all straight set winners as well.

Up Next: Roanoke will be off until March 16 when it hosts Shenandoah at 2:00 p.m.
