The Lead: Women's Tennis earned a 7-2 win over Emory & Henry Tuesday night on the road.

How it Happened:

Roanoke swept the doubles competitions as Avery Smith and Madeline Herring earned an 8-1 win over Katie Meade and Kaiti Sheaves at the No. 1 spot.
Janny Alvarado and Carolyn Kitsock took an 8-2 victory over Tessa Johnston and Bri Pierce at No. 2.
Kelly MacCluen and Anna Martin followed suit with an 8-5 win over Kala Curtis and Kelsey Holt to round out the doubles matches.
Herring defeated Johnston 6-4, 6-1 to earn RC its first singles competition at the No. 2 spot.
At No. 3, Kitsock took a 6-1, 6-2 victory over Curtis and Alvarado followed with a 6-0, 6-2 win over Sheaves.
Nicole Rajner closed out the day with a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Ellington King.
