The Lead: Carolyn Kitsock's win at No. 5 singles propelled Roanoke to a 5-4 ODAC Women's Tennis win over Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon in Salem.

How it Happened:

• VWU took two of the three doubles matches with Kitsock and Janny Alvarado picking up the RC win at No. 3.
• Avery Smith opened up singles and evened the match with a 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3. The Marlins took a 3-2 lead with a win at No. 2 before Madeline Herring won a 6-3, 6-3 decision over Courtney Simmons at No. 4 singles.
• With VWU leading 4-3, Jessica Kennedy picked up a win at No.1 and Kitsock topped Kellen Phillips 6-1, 2-6, 6-0 to clinch the match.
