The Lead: Roanoke won its fourth straight match with a 6-3 win over Mount Union on Thursday afternoon in Hilton Head.

How it Happened

• Janny Alvarado and Carolyn Kitsock got RC on the board first with an 8-5 victory in No. 3 doubles.
• Catherine Lee and Madeline Herring helped RC gain a 2-0 edge when they topped Trisha Kohut and Natalie Fry 8-5 in No. 2 doubles.
• Mount Union won No. 1 doubles to cut it to 2-1 before Kitsock won 6-4, 6-0 over Kohut at No. 5 singles to make it 3-1, while a 6-3, 6-2 win by Herring over Gabrielle Wegener gave RC a 4-1 edge.
• The Purple Raiders rallied to win No. 1 and No. 2 singles and cut the RC lead to 4-3 but Avery Smith would clinch the match with a 6-0, 7-5 win over Sierra Beighey in No. 3 singles.
• Tracy Kile also picked up a win at No. 6 singles for the Maroons.
