RC Wins Seventh in a Row With 84-66 Victory Over W&L

The Lead: Roanoke won its seventh game in a row with an 84-66 home win over Washington and Lee Saturday afternoon.

How it Happened:

  • With the score tied at 7-7, a three-pointer from Colton Reed sparked what would prove to be an 18-4 run with a Logan Vosburg layup making it 25-11 with 8:40 to go in the first half.
  • The Maroons cruised through the rest of the half and at two different points held a 16 point lead over the Generals. RC would go to the locker room up 47-34 at the intermission. 
  • With the score 57-44, RC put the game away with an 11-0 run that was capped by a Jorden Davis bucket to make it 68-44 with 9:48 to go in the game.
  • Davis led RC by tying his career-high with 19 points. C.J. Miles had 18 points, while Josh Freund had 15 points to go along with a team-high nine rebounds.
  • Washington and Lee was led by Clayton Murtha who had a game-high 24 points. Devin Kearns had 19 points and tied Freund for the rebound lead with nine.
  • RC shot 50.0% for the game, making 25-of-50 shots on the afternoon. W&L (42.3%) made 22-of-52 shots on the day.

Up Next: Roanoke will host Randolph at 7:00 p.m. in ODAC action.
