The Lead: Chris Pikunas had two goals and an assist as Roanoke knocked off Emory & Henry 3-0 Wednesday night in ODAC play.
How it Happened
- Roanoke got on the board at the 23:40 mark of the first-half when Philani Mlotshwa set up Pikunas to give the Maroons an early 1-0 lead.
- The Maroons doubled their lead just over two minutes later when Pikunas sent a pass to Jon-Cody Mactutus who scored as RC went up 2-0.
- Pikunas struck again in the 57th minute when he used a turnaround shot from the top of the box to collect his second goal of the game and make it a 3-0 Maroon advantage.
- Roanoke held a 12-6 edge in shots, while each team took two corner kicks.
- Alex Sullivan and Zach Behe combined for the shutout. Sullivan made one save and Behe made two. Emory Cornette had for stops for the Wasps.
Up Next: Roanoke will host Washington and Lee at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday in Salem.
