The Lead: The Roanoke College Golf team finished tied for 14th at the annual Virginia Intercollegiate Tournament on Tuesday.
Highlights:
- RC shot a two day total of 325-348—673 to tie the Apprentice School for 14th. Virginia Union ran away from the field on day two, shooting a 293 on Tuesday to beat Randolph-Macon by 11 strokes to win the team title.
- The Maroons got a 77-84—165 from Evan Diebus as he finished in a tie for 45th. Nick Peters carded a 78-84—162 to finish tied for 49th.
- Varun Yerramserri finished with a two-day total 71-72—143 to shoot one under par and win the individual title by one stroke over Allan Day of Virginia Union and Trey Razzetti of Randolph-Macon.
Up Next: Roanoke closes out fall season on Oct. 22-23 at the O'Briant-Jensen Memorial which will be played at Sedgefield CC in Greensboro, N.C.
