The Lead: Women's Tennis closed out the 2016-17 season after falling to Bridgewater in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Quarterfinals Wednesday.

How it Happened:

• Catherine Lee and Maddie Herring earned an 8-5 victory over Jamiah Lewis and Shannon Quinn at No. 2. 
• Carolyn Kitsock and Emma Barker took a 9-8 win over Stephanie Barton and Whitney Cash at No. 3 to give Roanoke at 2-1 edge after the doubles competitions.
• Lydia Dey won the only singles match-up for the Maroons with a 6-1, 6-2 win over Quinn at No. 6.
• Bridgewater won five singles matches to earn the ODAC quarterfinal win and advance to the semifinals.
• Roanoke finished the season with a 10-7 record, highlighted by a 7-4 conference mark.
