The Lead: The Roanoke Women's Tennis team scored a 8-1 ODAC win at home over Sweet Briar on Tuesday.
How it Happened:
- Roanoke swept all three doubles matches to take a commanding lead early. The No. 1 doubles team of Emily Henderson and Colette Wibaut won 8-0 over Gina Rutledge and AJ Lukanuski.
- Emma Barker and Carolyn Kitsock gave RC a 2-0 lead with a win at No. 3 doubles followed by a 8-3 win at No. 2 doubles by Catherine Lee and Madeline Herring.
- Henderson then extended the RC lead to 4-0 when Henderson won her No. 1 singles match 6-0, 6-0 against Lukanuski.
- Janny Alvarado clinched the win for RC when she topped Lexi Culley 6-0, 6-0 in No. 6 singles.
- Wibaut won at No. 3 singles, along with Herring (No. 4) and Lydia Dey at No. 5 singles.
Up Next: Roanoke will host Randolph-Macon at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday in ODAC action.
