The Lead: Roanoke evened its ODAC record with an 8-1 win over Guilford on Sunday in Salem.
How it Happened:
- Guilford claimed No. 1 doubles to take an early lead. RC won the remaining pair of doubles matches to go up 2-1.
- At No. 2, Roanoke's Catherine Lee and Madeline Herring topped Makayla McLaurin and Brooklyn Hopkins 8-1. Emma Barker and Carolyn Kitsock won 8-0 at No. 3 doubles for the Maroons as well.
- Roanoke then claimed all six singles matches, going up 3-1 behind a Colette Wibaut win by default at No.5. Lee then scored a 6-1, 6-0 victory over Chandler MacDonald at No.3 to push RC's lead to 4-1.
- Lydia Dey secured the RC victory by beating Maureen Smith 6-0, 6-0 at No. 6 singles.
- Emily Henderson (No. 1), Barker (No. 4) and Herring (No. 2) all won singles matches for RC as well.
