The Lead: Jon-Cody Mactutus converted a penalty kick in the 85th minute to lift Roanoke to a 1-0 ODAC Men's Soccer victory over rival Washington and Lee on Saturday.
How it Happened:
- With the score deadlocked at 0-0 at the 84:53 mark, a Roanoke player was pulled down in the box, giving RC the PK chance which Mactutus converted to give RC the only goal it would need.
- A defensive struggle, RC held a slim 8-7 advantage in shots, while W&L had nine of the 11 corner kicks on the day.
- Nick Tadros earned the shutout in net for the Maroons, making a pair of second saves.
