How it Happened:- RC got on the board first when Joey Dishaw scored on an unassisted strike at the 12:45 mark of the first quarter.
- Denison got back-to-back goals from Will Donohue and Jake Waxter to take a 2-1 lead after the first 15 minutes.
- Tyler McWilliams opened the second quarter scoring just one minute into the second stanza to tie the game at 2-2.
- After a man-up goal for Denison made it 3-2, Colin Mackenzie set up Jimmy Kuzma for a goal that tied the game at 3-3 with 10:52 left in the half.
- The teams would exchange goals to end the half, including a man-up strike by Mackenzie that was set up by McWillams to make it 4-4.
- Denison scored first in the third quarter to go up 5-4 before RC got a goal from IV Stucker and a man-down tally from Will Pilat to put the Maroons up 6-5 with just over six minutes to go in the third quarter.
- The Big Red responded with a pair of a goals of their own, taking a 7-6 advantage on an Owen Armstrong goal just 56 seconds into the fourth quarter.
- Dishaw set up Lintner to tie the game at 7-7 with 7:59 left in the game before Stucker struck 1:12 later to give RC the 8-7 lead.
- Denison had a chance to tie the game in the closing seconds but the RC defense held, including Billy Newman picking off a Denison pass as the buzzer sounded to preserve the victory.
- Newman was part of a defensive unit that held Denison to just 1-of-6 on man-up opportunities
- Denison held a slim 37-36 edge in groundballs, but Roanoke held a 24-14 edge in the decisive second-half. Dishaw, Stucker and Kevin Jackson all had four groundballs for RC.
- McManus came up with his eight saves in the second-half after replacing Ian Davis who made six saves in the first-half.
- Each team won nine face-offs, with the Maroons winning 6-of-9 in the second-half.
