The Lead: Bridgewater topped Roanoke 3-0 in ODAC Volleyball Wednesday night in Salem.
How it Happened:
- Sydney Daniel led the Maroons with 11 kills followed by Kylah Blackmore with nine.
- Jessica Block dished out 29 assists in the contest while Ryan Hedgepeth recorded a team-high 17 digs while Blackmore and Block each contributed 13.
- Rachel Gaston had a match-high 12 kills for Bridgewater, while Allison Clark had nine. Macon Frey was one of four Eagles with double-digit digs in the win with 20.
- After dropping the first game, RC battled back in the game two, holding a 24-23 lead following a Daniel kill. BC then rallied following a serving error by the Maroons and ace from Abby Mills to close out the game.
- Game three was back and forth as well with an Alex Wolfe kill tying the game at 10-10. With RC up 13-12, BC scored four straight points to go up 16-13.
- Roanoke would cut it to 21-19, but BC scored four of the final six points to win the match.
Up Next: Roanoke concludes its regular season and will await the pairings for the ODAC Tournament set to start next week.
