The Lead: Roanoke College ran its winning streak to five games with a 71-46 ODAC Women's Basketball victory Wednesday evening in Salem.

How it Happened
  • The Maroons were led by Cary Beahm who had a game-high 22 points and 11 rebounds in 33 minutes of action. Ellen Wagner had 12 points for RC, while Bridget Holleran and Kelsey Smith each had 11 in the win.
  • The Maroons held Shenandoah to 34.7% shooting from the floor only allowing SU to make 17-of-49 shots from the field. Roanoke forced 26 Hornet turnovers which translated into 26 points on the offensive end for the Maroons.
  • RC held a slim 11-6 lead after the first 10 minutes of play, then broke the game wide open, outscoring SU 30-10 in the second period. In that second period, RC opened up play with a 16-3 run that was capped by a Jamella Foster jumper, making it 27-9 with five minutes to go in the half.
  • The RC lead would reach as much as 28 points in the second-half when Wagner converted a jumper shot in the final minutes of the game.
Up Next: Roanoke will travel to Washington and Lee on Sunday for a 4:00 p.m. ODAC game.
