The Lead: Brandon Bauer's goal in the 54^th minute proved to be all Roanoke would need as the Maroons topped home standing Randolph-Macon 1-0 Wednesday afternoon in Ashland.

How it Happened:

• The first 45 minutes proved to be scoreless with R-MC holding a slim 6-4 edge in shots.
• It took RC just under 10 minutes into the second stanza to crack the scoreboard when Bauer cut in from the right side of the box and was able to get off a shot and beat the Yellow Jacket keeper.
• While R-MC held a 12-10 edge in shots for the match, the Jackets were only able to get three shots on frame and each was saved by Maroon keeper Cole Sinclair.
• RC had a great scoring opportunity in the 74th minute when Robby Lentine came off the end line, cut back and caught the R-MC keeper out of positon, but his shot was cleared off the goal line by an R-MC defender to keep it a one goal lead for the Maroons.
• R-MC got pair of chances to even the score late in the game, but one shot was blocked by Fortune Sibanda and the other was saved by Sinclair.
