The Lead: Roanoke scored a pair of goals just over a minute apart in the first-half en route to a 3-0 victory Friday evening against Greensboro in the opening day of play at the 2015 All Sports Café Roanoke College Invitational.
How it Happened:- Both teams played a back and forth first-half, before a Tim Mahabir pass found the head of Jackson Goyette to beat GC keeper Jaime Payamps to make it 1-0 Maroons.
- Roanoke doubled its lead just 1:14 later when Fortune Sibanda scored to make it 2-0 RC.
- The match remained that way through halftime and until the 86th minute when Cole Thornton took a pass from Patrick Daum and slipped a shot into the lower left corner to put RC in front 3-0.
- Cole Sinclair made five saves to pick up the shutout, while Payamps made one stop for GC.
- RC outshot GC 9-6 and held a 7-4 edge in corner kicks.

Roanoke will close out the invitational by taking on William Peace at 6:30 on Saturday. William Peace lost to Lynchburg 7-0 in Friday's first match.
