The Lead: Kylah Blackmore recorded 16 kills as Roanoke topped Hollins 3-0 in ODAC Volleyball action on Monday evening.
How it Happened- In game one, Hollins led 9-7 before a Logan Graves kill sparked a 10-3 run for the Marrons to put them up 17-12. HU would cut the RC lead to 20-16 but Roanoke won five of the next seven points to close out the game.
- Game two saw RC jump out to a 10-3 advantage and never look back on its way to a 25-17 win.
- With the score 16-12 in game three, RC closed out the match by winning nine of the final 12 points to win 25-15.
- Sydney Daniel had nine kills for the Maroons and Allison White chipped in with eight. Jessica Block recorded a match-high 35 assists to go along with 14 digs.
- Defensively, Alexandra Martin had 13 digs for the Maroons, while Blackmore and Christen Zammit each had eight stops.
- The win gives RC its second consecutive 20 win season and it marks the seventh time since 2002 the program has recorded 20 victories. The eight ODAC wins is the most for RC since it had eight during the 2004 season.
Up Next: Roanoke will host a tri-match on Sunday. The Maroons will face Virginia Wesleyan in a key ODAC match at 11:00 a.m. and then face Averett at 3:00 p.m. to close out the regular season schedule.
