The Lead: The Roanoke Volleyball team dropped a hard fought ODAC match to Washington and Lee 3-1 on Tuesday evening in Lexington, Va.
 
How it Happened

• The Maroons came out and hit a blistering .455 in the opening game to take a 25-17 victory. The Maroons went up 19-12 in game one following an attack error by the Generals. W&L would cut the lead to 19-15 but that would be as close as it would get as RC won six of the final eight points and closed the game out on a Sydney Daniel kill. 
• After the Generals tied the match by winning game two, the Maroons found themselves down 19-15 in game three when an Alexandra Martin ace sparked a 5-1 run to tie the game at 20-20. The game would be tied at 22 before W&L scored three straight points to end the game. 
• In the fourth game, RC was up 15-8 after a Daniel kill.  With RC up 20-16, the Generals scored six straight points to go up 22-20 only to see the Maroons battle back and tie the game up on an ace from Jessica Block. W&L scored back-to-back points to go up 24-22.  RC again rallied, tying the game on an Allison White ace, but the Generals scored the next two points to take the match. 
• Daniel finished with 11 kills for RC. Kyla Blackmore had nine kills and Logan Graves had seven. Block had 37 assists and Martin notched 16 digs.

Roanoke will be back in action on Thursday when it travels to Meredith for a 6:00 p.m. non-conference match.
