Roanoke got off to a 5-2 lead in the first two minutes of the game as Daniels scored the first bucket and Eacho followed up with an old fashioned three-point play.  The two teams exchange the lead back and forth through a 10-10 tie.  Ramirez broke the tie with a layup at 11:50, which kicked off a 9-2 run by the Maroons that ran over the next three minutes.  With six minutes to play, the Golden Eagles had pulled back within one, 19-18, but John Fitchett hit a pair of free throws that started an 8-0 run for the Maroons, with Fitchett scoring six of the eight points.  Roanoke finished the first half with a nine point, 35-26 lead, capped off by a three pointer by Fitchett in the final seconds of the half.

Daniel Eacho opened the second half with a layup, putting the Maroons ahead by double digits, 37-26.  Clifton Lyverly tried to get the Golden Eagles, scoring the first nine points for Brockport, getting back within five, 40-35.  Fitchett put a stop to the scoring drought by the Maroons, hitting the next five points to get the Maroons back ahead by 10.  With 13:36 to play, Eacho hit a jumper to start a run for the Maroons, outscoring the Golden Eagles 18-4 through the 8:23 mark to go ahead by 24.  Roanoke was able to hold on to that large lead through the remainder of the contest, picking up the first win of the season for the Maroons, 83-61 over The College at Brockport.
