Box Score FAYETTEVILLE, NC – The Roanoke College volleyball team came back from one set down to defeat Methodist University 3-1 (24-26, 25-19, 25-18, 25-16) on Thursday evening.  The Maroons are now 14-7 on the season, while the Monarchs are 10-11 for the year.
 
Tonight's contest was the third time the Maroons have faced off against the Monarchs.  Roanoke topped Methodist 3-0 on August 31^st in the Cougar Classic.  The Maroons were victorious again on September 12^th in the first match of the Maroon Classic for each team.  Methodist picked up the win in the first set after jumping out to an early 5-0 lead.   Roanoke battled back, but fell 26-24 in the first set.  The Maroons were able to win the next three sets by a comfortable margin, picking up their 14^th win of the season.
 
Offensively, Brooke Bostwick led the Maroons in kills with 17, followed by Sarah Long and Allison White with 13 and 11, respectively. Christen Zammit led the Maroons in digs, putting up a season high 22 digs in the contest.  Jessica Block and Macey Tyree each tallied 10 digs apiece in the match.  Block topped all Roanoke players in the match with 27 assists, while Alexandra Martin dished out 17 assists.  Bostwick also led all players in the match with five block assists, tallying half of Roanoke's total in the match.
 
Methodist was led by Grace Crawford, who put away 10 kills in the contest.  Maggie Harris topped all players in the match with 35 of the Monarchs' 38 assists.  Three players were in double figures in digs for Methodist, led by Karly Kilmas with 15, Chyenne Pump with 11 and Maggie Harris with 10.
 
The Maroons return to action on Wednesday, October 15^th as they host Washington and Lee in the Bast Center at 6:30 PM.  That contest will also be Dig Pink night, as all spectators of the game are asked to wear pink for Breast Cancer Awareness.
