Box Score STAUNTON – The Roanoke College volleyball team won its third straight match after defeating Mary Baldwin College 3-0 (25-7, 25-15, 25-11).  The Maroons now have a record of 16-7 on the season.
 
This is the third time the Maroons have had at least at three game win streak, after starting the season out 6-0.  The Maroons also won three consecutive matches from September 6^th to September 12^th, defeating Southern Virginia, Methodist and Ferrum College.
 
Roanoke made short work in the first set, coming out on top 25-7, which included winning the final 13 points in a row.  Jessica Block was the server for those final 13 points of the first set.  The Maroons were played much tighter by Mary Baldwin through the start of the second set, being tied 14-14.  However, the Maroons went on to take 11 of the next 12 points to win 25-15 in the second.  The Maroons jumped out to a 17-3 lead in the third set, holding on to at least a nine point advantage through the end of the third, besting Mary Baldwin 25-11.
 
The Maroons were led in kills by Macey Tyree, who finished with seven on the evening.  She was followed by Kylah Blackmore with six, as well as Logan Graves, Allison White and Sarah Long with five apiece.  Jessica Block led all players in assists, dishing out 17 for the match.  Tyree and Ryan Hedgepeth each finished with a team high 10 digs.  Long led the team in solo blocks, tallying all three recorded by the Maroons.
 
Mary Baldwin's Katelyn Rice led with five of the team's 11 kills.  Jessica Hickman recorded four kills in the effort.  Reilly Kelly dished out six assists, while Sara Valdivieso notched four.  Rice also led the team in digs with 11, while Tyla Kelley and Rice each finished with one block assist.
 
The Maroons return to action on October 21^st as they play host to Hollins in the Bast Center.  That contest is scheduled for a 6:30 PM start.
