Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 DANVILLE – The Roanoke College volleyball team split a pair of matches on Saturday afternoon, defeating Greensboro 3-1, and falling to William Peace 3-2.  The Maroons open up the 2013 season with a record of 1-1.
 
Head Coach Blair Trail is entering her 15^th year at the helm of the volleyball team.  With the victory today, Trail needs just two more wins to pick up her 250^th career coaching win.
 
In the match against Greensboro the Maroons won 3-1 (25-18, 20-25, 25-14, 25-14).  Samantha Klostermann finished the contest with 10 kills, while Allison White had eight kills.  Mackenzie Tyree finished with 19 digs.  Sarah Long tallied six kills and two blocks.  Jessica Block had a team high 15 kills along with three service aces.  Alexandra Martin dished out 18 assists as well.
 
The Maroons also fell to William Peace in five sets.  Macey Tyree had a team high 15 kills in the match up to go along with 11 digs.  Mackenzie Tyree had 15 digs of her own to top the Maroons.  Sarah Long added 11 kills to make her total 17 on the day.  Jessica Block finished with 17 assists while Alexandra Martin had 19 assists.
 
The Maroons return to action in the Averett Invitational on Sunday, September 1^st as they face Austin College at 11:00 AM, then play host school Averett at 2:30 PM.
