SALEM - The Roanoke College women's tennis team, who was recently ranked #20 in the Atlantic South Region in the latest ITA poll, defeated Old Dominion Athletic Conference opponent, Shenandoah University 9-0. The Maroons now have a record of 4-2 and are 3-0 in ODAC play, while the Hornets are 3-4 and 0-4 in ODAC play.
The Maroons continue their trend of defeating their ODAC opponents, 9-0. The #1 Doubles team of
Jennifer Antoszyk and
Corbin Leitch defeated Shannon Allin and Molly Barb by the score of 8-3.
Laura Dodson and
Haley Goodes blanked the team of Rapp and Hannah Johnson, 8-0 in the #2 spot. In #3 doubles, Brie Carroll and
Kristen McDowell fought off Amber Lake and Rachel Gross, 8-5.
Antoszyk fended off Allin in #1 singles, 6-1; 6-0. Dodson bested Gross in the #3 spot, 6-0;6-1, while McDowell finished off Lake 6-4; 6-3 in #4 singles. Leitch, Kaity Diskerud and
Haley Goodes each won their matches by the scores of 6-0; 6-0.
The Maroons return to action on Sunday, March 17
th, as they play host to ODAC opponent, Guilford College. That contest is scheduled for a 1:00 PM start.
