Women's Soccer Remains Undefeated in ODAC Play with 4-0 Win over Randolph

Box Score SALEM - The Roanoke College women's soccer team remains undefeated in Old Dominion Athletic Conference play after defeating Randolph College 4-0 on Wednesday.

Maroons now sit with a record of 6-2-1, 4-0 in ODAC play, while the Wildcats are 5-4, 1-4 ODAC. Roanoke holds a 34-1 all-time series record against Randolph, having won the last 33 consecutive meetings. The Maroons' last 4-0 start in conference play was in 2010, when they were undefeated in the ODAC regular season, with a conference record of 9-0-2.

Roanoke's Stephanie Parenteau quickly notched the first goal of the game, just 1:11 into the period. Parenteau placed one over the head of the Randolph goalkeeper's head to give the Maroons the 1-0 lead. Carmen Graves increased the Maroons lead to 2-0 at the 25:22 mark, as she headed a pass from Parenteau into the back of the net.

At half, the Maroons led in shots (10-4) and corner kicks (6-1). Rebekah Adams and Ashley Barnes led the team in shots with three each. The Wildcats' Abigail Bullins also had three shots in the first period.

Graves scored once more, tallying a goal off another pass from Parenteau at the 62:00 mark. Graves kicked the ball up to herself and volleyed the ball out of the air into the left side of the net for the 3-0 Roanoke lead. Parenteau picked up her third assist of the game at 74:45, as she passed across the face of the goal to Rebekah Adams, who scored for the Maroons. Adams' goal proved to be the final one of the game as Roanoke wins 4-0 over Randolph.

Stephanie Parenteau finished the game with five points, one goal and three assists. Adams led the Maroons in shots with seven, followed by Graves with five. Aroly Sarabacher picked up the win for the Maroons as she played 65 minutes and made four saves.

The Maroons return to action on Saturday, September 29th as the Maroons host ODAC opponent Bridgewater College at Kerr Stadium. The game will be part of Roanoke College Family Weekend, and will serve as the women's soccer team's “senior night,” celebrating the collegiate career of seven seniors. Kickoff for the game is scheduled for 2:30 PM.
