SALEM - The men's tennis team topped Randolph, 8-1 in Old Dominion Athletic Conference (ODAC) action Tuesday afternoon at the Elizabeth Campus Tennis Courts. The Maroons improve to 3-9 overall, 2-4 in the ODAC, while the WildCats slip to 4-9, 1-6 in conference play.
Randolph College got its only singles win from Daniil Lyalko (7-5, 6-0), as they couldn't overcome an early deficit. Roanoke got wins in all three doubles matches, including an 8-2 triumph from
Ian Webster and
Lewis Young in the #2 slot and 8-4 victory with
Matt Osman and
Charlie Graves in the #3 flight.
Graves (6-0, 6-1) and
Chris Migliarese (6-1, 6-2) cruised to victory in #2 and #4 singles, respectively. Webster won 6-1, 6-4 in #5 singles while Osman completed the day with a 6-3, 6-3 decision in the final match of the day.
The men will take on Virginia Wesleyan on Wednesday, April 4 in conference action. Game time is scheduled for 3 p.m. at the Elizabeth Campus Courts.
