Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 SALEM - The Roanoke College volleyball team hosted the 2012 Maroon Classic on October 5-6 in C. Homer Bast Gymnasium. The Maroons went 2-2 in the tournament. Roanoke now has a record of 13-10.

On Friday night, Roanoke opened with a 3-1 (25-11, 25-19, 26-28, 25-16) win over Ferrum College. Sarah Long led the Maroons in kills with 17, followed by Macey Tyree who tallied 16. Alexandra Martin put up 27 assists, while Shannon Stone dished out 25. Roanoke's digs leader Mackenzie Tyree gathered 26 digs, and Macey Tyree earned 21. Allison White had eight total blocks, one solo and seven block assists.

In the 7:00 PM game on Friday, Roanoke fell to Averett University 3-1 (14-25, 25-23, 10-25, 16-25). Long led the team with eight kills, followed by Rachel Kilinski who tallied seven. Shannon Stone continued to lead the team in assists as she handed out 18 in the four sets. Mackenzie Tyree led the team in digs (15) and service aces (5). Other players in double digits with digs were: Macey Tyree (14), Martin (13) and Brittany Peterson (11).

On Saturday morning, the Maroons were swept by UVA-Wise, 3-0 (18-25, 24-26, 18-25). Macey Tyree led the team in kills with eight, followed by Samantha Klostermann who had seven. Stone finished the game with 10 assists, while Mackenzie Tyree tallied 11 digs.

In the 2:00 PM game on Saturday, The Maroons defeated Randolph College in a non-ODAC contest, 3-1 (20-25, 25-18, 25-20, 25-16). Long led the team in kills with 14, followed by Macey Tyree with nine. Shannon Stone tallied a weekend high 34 assists. Martin, Peterson and Stone each had three service aces. Mackenzie Tyree pulled up 21 digs, followed by Stone with 12.
