SALEM - Washington and Lee's Becca Dunn scored both the equalizer and game winning goals to defeat Roanoke College 3-2 at Kerr Stadium on Wednesday. The Maroons now sit with a record of 6-4-1 and are 4-2 in ODAC play, while the Generals are now 7-2-1 and 5-1-1 in the ODAC

Roanoke is now 18-16-4 all time against Washington and Lee in women's soccer. The Generals have defeated the Maroons in the last two contests, with Roanoke's last win in 2010, in a 1-0 overtime victory.

Washington and Lee's Ainsley Dalgle got off to a fast start for the Generals, giving the team a 1-0 lead just 2:06 in the first half. Dalgle collected a rebound and placed it in the right side of the net. But, Roanoke College would respond quickly, as 8 minutes later, Rebekah Adams fielded a corner kick and found the back of the net to lock the game at 1-1. Carmen Graves would follow suit by scoring just six minutes later, heading one in off a corner kick from Stephanie Parenteau. At the end of the first period, Roanoke led 2-1.

Becca Dunn scored the unassisted equalizer at the 70:14 mark, tying the game at 2-2. Neither team could find the go-ahead goal by the end of regulation, so extra minutes would be necessary to decide the contest. With just 2:30 to play in the end of the first OT period, Dunn put an end to the game with her second goal of the night, giving W&L the 3-2 OT win.

Rebekah Adams and Nathalie Torres led the Maroons in shots with two, while Carmen Graves and Cindy Suttora each tallied one. Carolyn Sarbacher played all 102 minutes in goal tallying two saves. Washington and Lee led in shots (9-6) and Corner Kicks (6-4).

The Maroons return to action on Friday, October 5th as the Maroons make the short trip to Hollins to play in ODAC competition. That contest is scheduled for a 4:00 PM start.
