SALEM - Freshman
Lauren O'Brien netted the game winner in the final 10 minutes of Roanoke College's 2-1 victory over Randolph-Macon on Tuesday. The Maroons, who are now 10-4-1, 8-2-1 ODAC, earned their program record-tying seventh 10-win season. The last time Roanoke won ten games in seven straight seasons was between 1990-96, where the Maroons won 92 games in that span.
With tonight's win, as well as Bridgewater winning its game against Randolph College 4-0, the Maroons secured a #5 seed in the ODAC Tournament. As it stands, Roanoke will play the opening round against Bridgewater, who is the #4 seed. When the two teams met earlier this season, Bridgewater got the edge over the Maroons, 2-0.
