Tonight at 7:00 PM, the men's soccer team plays their final regular season home game against Emory & Henry. If the Maroons are victorious against the Wasps, they will secure their second straight ODAC regular season championship, and will host an opening round game on Saturday, October 27th.
After 27 years at the helm of the Roanoke College men's soccer team, head coach Scott Allison announced Monday that he is retiring from coaching soccer at the end of this season. Allison, who took the head coaching position in 1986, has accumulated over 300 wins in his more than 500 games. Under his reign, the men's soccer team has won seven ODAC Championships, nine ODAC regular season titles, and advanced to the NCAA Quarterfinals in 1993.
The women's soccer team, currently ranked fifth in the ODAC take on number sixth ranked Randolph-Macon at
4:00 PM today. If the Maroons win tonight, and Bridgewater College loses their game, the Maroons will earn a #4 seed in the ODAC Tournament and will also host a first-round match up at Donald J. Kerr Stadium.
So be sure to come out and support both the men's and women's soccer teams, as well as showing your support for coach Scott Allison in his final home regular season game.
CAB is hosting a FREE TAILGATE at Sutton Terrace, starting at 7:00 PM. There will be free food and drinks. There will also be a celebration for Coach Allison after the game, taking place at Sutton Terrace as well.
