SALEM - The Roanoke College volleyball team split a pair of matches on Saturday, defeating Shenandoah 3-0 (25-18, 26-24, 25-22) and falling 0-3 (19-25, 23-25, 12-25) to Catholic University of America. The Maroons now have a record of 16-12 and are 5-6 in ODAC play.
Roanoke has an all-time record of 2-3 against Catholic, and a 9-2 record against Shenandoah. With the victory over Shenandoah, the Maroons have secured a number seven ranking in the ODAC Tournament, which will take place starting October 21
st.
In the win against Shenandoah,
Sarah Long led the Maroons in kills with 14 followed by
Macey Tyree with seven.
Shannon Stone topped all players in assists with 22, while
Alexandra Martin finished with 11.
Macey Tyree was the leader in digs, finishing with 12, followed by
Mackenzie Tyree with 11.
Samantha Klostermann led all players in blocks with five.
Against Catholic, Long led the team again in kills with nine, while
Mackenzie Allen finished with five. Martin dished out 16 assists, while Stone handed out 12.
Mackenzie Tyree led all players with 21 digs and Martin finished in the double-digits with 10.
The Maroons return to action on Saturday, October 20 as they travel to Danville to face Bluffton University and Mount St. Joseph
