LEXINGTON --- Madeline Forrestel's header in the 70
th minute gave Washington and Lee a 1-0 victory over Roanoke in ODAC action Wednesday afternoon at Watt Field. The Maroons slipped to 7-2-1 overall, 3-1 in the ODAC, while the Generals propels their record to 6-1-1, 3-0-1 in conference play.
Forrestel came off the bench to put up three shots to lead her team, including the header from a cross from Holley Beasley for the eventual game-winner.
Roanoke had three opportunities late to score the equalizer in the final seven minutes of regulation.
Carmen Graves (Christiansburg, VA, Christiansburg) had a good look, but her shot was saved by goalkeeper Emily Leary.

The women return home on Saturday, Oct. 1 to battle Virginia Wesleyan in a pivotal ODAC showdown. The match is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Kerr Stadium.
