After five unanswered points by WLU, Singleton connected on back-to-back three-point attempts from each corner to give the Roanoke its first lead since the beginning of the first half, 42-41, at the 16-minute mark.

After the Generals capped a 6-0 spurt over the next three possessions, Amponsah and Singleton hit two more treys to regain the lead. A Zach Barret layup gave the Maroons their largest lead of the game, 54-49, which capped a 12-2 run with 12-minutes remaining.

Then Washington and Lee answered back over the next five minutes with a 12-2 run of its own to take a five-point advantage, 61-56.

Roanoke fought back, scoring eight of the next 12 points in the ensuing five minutes of play. Adam Kessler's layup from Ethan Humphries pulled the Maroons to within one, 65-64 with 1:54 to go in regulation as Generals Coach, Adam Hutchinson called timeout.

Both teams exchanged buckets over the next three possessions as the Generals held a slim one-point advantage, 67-66. The Maroons failed to convert over the next three possessions as they were forced to foul. The Generals went 6-for-6 from the line to ice the game.
